In order to prevent the spread of new variants of the novel coronavirus found in South Africa in Brazil, the Brazilian federal government issued a notice on the 26th prohibiting South African tourists from entering Brazil.

Earlier, the Brazilian government issued a similar entry ban on British tourists a month ago to prevent the spread of new variants of the novel coronavirus found in the UK in Brazil.

The Brazilian government issued a notice on the 26th that international flights from or through the United Kingdom and South Africa are temporarily banned from landing in Brazil.

Passengers who have been to the United Kingdom and South Africa in the past 14 days will also be temporarily banned from entering Brazil. This regulation also applies to passengers entering Brazil by land and water.

Passengers entering Brazil from other countries are required to provide a negative nucleic acid test certificate 72 hours before the plane takes off.

This proclamation was co-signed by the head of the Civil Office of the Brazilian Presidential Palace, the Minister of Justice and Public Security, and the Minister of Health.
