At about 1300 hours local time on 15 May, the Israel Defense Forces said on social media that air strikes had been raised in Tel Aviv and central Israel. The IDF subsequently announced that Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv, had been hit by rocket fire.
According to the Palestinian Ma’an news agency, the Qassam Brigades, an armed wing of Hamas, launched a rocket attack on Ramat Gan. The Times of Israel reported that a man in his 50s was killed in the attack and several others suffered minor injuries.
The Times of Israel quoted Al Jazeera as saying in a social media tweet at around 14:00 local time (19:00 BST) that Israel had issued a “warning” to bomb a building where Al Jazeera’s gaza office and other international media were located within an hour.
