Guinean President Conté swears in ceremony
On December 15th local time, Guinean President Conte delivered a speech at the presidential swearing-in ceremony
urging the people to unite, hoping that everyone “forget the past of division and move towards a future of unity and hope”.
The current President Conté won the presidential election held on October 18 local time and was elected President of Guinea for the third time.
According to the statistics, Conte’s vote was 59.50%.
Conte, 82, was elected President of Guinea in 2010 and has been re-elected in the 2015 presidential election.
According to the new Constitution of Guinea, the president is elected for a six-year term.
The president is directly elected by voters, and the first round of candidates with more than 50% of the votes wins the election.
