Moscow, December 15 The Russian Ministry of Defense issued a communiqué on the 15th, saying that a “Yars” intercontinental ballistic missile regiment entered combat duty in the Russian Siberia region on the same day.

The communiqué said that the missile regiment was deployed in the Altai Krai of Siberia, Russia, and the newly equipped “Yars” intercontinental ballistic missile replaced the previously equipped “Poplar” intercontinental ballistic missile.” Yars intercontinental ballistic missile can enhance the cluster strike capability and nuclear containment capabilities of the Russian strategic rocket army.

Yars missile is the latest land-based intercontinental ballistic missile developed by the Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, with a maximum range of 11,000 kilometers.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has previously said that the modernization plan of Russian strategic rocket army weapons and equipment will be completed in 2024.

At that time, the Russian Strategic Rocket Army will replace all intercontinental ballistic missiles currently in service during the Soviet Union.
