According to German media reports on November 29, Germany will officially set up an epidemic crisis response group in the next few days. It is reported that the team will be headed by Major General Brewer, Minister of Land and Mandate of the German Federal Defence Force.
On November 29, the German Towns Association and the German National Academy of Sciences in Leopordina both asked for representatives to participate in the crisis group. Levy, chairman of the Towns Association, called on the crisis group to start work immediately. At the same time, he asked town representatives to participate in the resolution “because towns are the front line for completing and implementing epidemic prevention”.
Schroger, vice president of the National Academy of Sciences in Leopordina, said that the scientific and political communities should maintain a continuous dialogue, not just communicate through statements and the media when the situation is critical. He called on the crisis group to meet regularly and take immediate action, otherwise the fourth wave of the epidemic would only worsen; and when it naturally subsided, the fifth wave would outbreak at some point. He stressed that federal and state governments must take unified action, which is also the significance of establishing crisis groups.
Last week, Scholtz, the German Chancellor candidate, expressed his hope to set up a pandemic crisis group and take further measures to deal with the fourth wave of the epidemic. According to German media analysis, the new German government is expected to be sworn in in early December, and Scholtz will serve as the new prime minister.
