According to Ansa on April 2, the national prosecutor’s office in Rome, Italy, said on the same day that four people were under investigation for allegedly threatening Italian Health Minister Speranza by sending emails.
In an investigation coordinated by the Roman prosecution, police in many Italian places searched the residences of the four suspects living in Turin, Cagliari, Varez and Enna provinces.
Dissatisfied with the restrictions imposed by the government during the COVID-19 emergency, the suspect sent several emails containing serious violence and even death threats to Health Minister Speranza through servers set up outside the European Union between October 2020 and January 2021.
The relevant electronic equipment used by the suspect has been seized, and the prosecution is conducting an in-depth investigation into the case to confirm whether it is related to other organizations or individuals.
