Former FDA official: There may be 500,000 new cases per day in United States

According to CNBC reports, on the 6th local time, Gottlieb, a former U.S. Food and Drug Administration official, said that the number of new coronavirus infections in the United States in a single day may have reached 500,000. 

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, on November 5th local time there were 120,000 new confirmed cases in the United States. From 16:00 on the 5th to 16:00 on the 6th local time, the number of new infections reached 140,000.

This is the third consecutive day that the number of new cases in a single day has remained above 100,000.

Gottlieb said that only one-fifth of the cases have been detected so far, and the actual number of infections may be higher.¬†Gottlieb said that the U.S. government currently has no targeted pandemic prevention measures. He said: “We are brewing a lot of trouble. This situation may break out within a few weeks.”¬†
