A former NFL player committed suicide early Thursday morning after shooting down five people on Wednesday local time, including doctors who had treated him, according to the Associated Press.
According to the Associated Press, the retired player of the murderer is Philip Adams, 32 years old.
He has played in the NFL for many years, but also suffered many injuries, such as concussions and ankle fractures. Local police said that the five people he shot him to kill included a well-known 70-year-old doctor who had treated him, the doctor’s 69-year-old wife, and their 9- and 5-year-old grandchildren.
A 38-year-old man working in the doctor’s house was also shot outside the doctor’s house. Another person was being rescued in the hospital due to serious gunshot wounds. Adams himself committed suicide in the early morning of the day after the murder.
At present, the police are investigating the detailed cause of the case. On social networks, some American netizens speculated that he might be mentally ill.
Some people also thought that it might be related to those brain injuries he suffered during his career, believing that he might have “chronic traumatic brain disease”. More people are saddened by the misfortune of the victims.
