Mexico’s national oil company issued a notice on August 23, local time, said that Mexico’s southeastern state of Campeche near the sea on the 22nd fire, has killed five people, six injured, two missing.
The fire broke out at about 15:00 local time on the 22nd and was brought under control about an hour and a half later, the statement said.
Octavio Romero, general manager of Mexico’s national oil company, told reporters Wednesday that the cause of the accident is still under investigation, and that facilities maintenance problems have been initially ruled out.
Mexican President Lopez expressed his condolences to the victims on the 23rd, hoping that the injured will recover as soon as possible and the missing will be found as soon as possible.
