Fauci: Whenever invited, he will definitely join the Biden epidemic team
November 26th – Anthony Fauci, the chief infectious disease expert of the United States and a senior member of the White House epidemic team, said in an interview that he would “definitely” join Biden’s epidemic team as long as he was invited.
According to the U.S. media Capitol Hill newspaper on the 25th, Fauci was asked in an interview with C-SPAN TV whether he would join Biden’s epidemic team if invited. He responded to this: “Of course, it will. It’s certain.”
“Obviously, we’ll soon have the transition team and the pandemic team provide them [by the side] with information so they can take over their responsibilities more easily and effectively,” Fauci said. He mentioned that he had contacted Biden’s White House Chief of Staff candidate Ron Klein, but had not yet “done in depth” with the other party to discuss the response to the epidemic.
Biden previously said his transition team had been in touch with Fauci and that he was “helpful.” Fauci himself said he hoped to stay in the post of director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Biden team members told reporters on the 25th that the transition team will receive all briefings on the epidemic response immediately, focusing on vaccine distribution, testing, and supply of protective equipment. Biden spokesman Bedingfeld said: “It’s going very fast now.”
