The Associated Press, December 15 said that U.S. President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris should be vaccinated against the novel coronavirus as soon as possible, said Anthony Fauci, the United States’s chief infectious disease expert.

“I really feel strongly that we should get them vaccinated as soon as possible,” Fauci said Tuesday on ABC’s Good Morning America. Fauci added that he wants to see Biden “fully protected when he enters the presidency in January”.

While US President Trump may still carry antibodies and protect him for at least a few months, Fauci said he should also be vaccinated to “double his certainty.” Trump was hospitalized with the novel coronavirus in early October.
