According to the latest risk assessment report released by the European Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC) on the 29th, as of the 28th, 14 countries, including the United Kingdom, had reported cases of mutant novel coronavirus.

Mike Kachpur, the chief scientist of the center, warned that the current risk of further spread of mutant strains in Europe will lead to an increase in hospitalization and death and amplify the impact on the health care system.

He called on Member States to continue to adopt existing non-drug intervention epidemic prevention measures, while strengthening monitoring, testing, case tracking and discovery mechanisms.
