Portuguese health authorities announced on December 19 local time that Prime Minister Costa will maintain preventive isolation until December 29 due to close contact with the high-risk environment of COVID-19.
Portuguese Prime Minister Costa went to Paris, the capital of France, to meet with French President Macron on December 16 local time. Macron tested positive for COVID-19 on December 17.
Costa will remain in preventive isolation at the Prime Minister’s residence until December 29, despite testing negative for COVID-19 on the 17th and no related symptoms.
Costa cancelled its planned visit to Sao Tome and Principe, the Central African Republic and Guinea-Bissau from 18 to 20 December, but retained all non-face administrative work agendas.
