Director General Grossie of the International Atomic Energy Agency gave a joint interview to the Chinese media on the 14th to take a statement on the Japanese government’s decision to discharge nuclear sewage into the sea.

Grosey said that the treatment of nuclear sewage is a complex problem, which requires a distinction between the radioactive material in nature itself and radioactive material in nuclear wastewater.

The International Atomic Energy Agency will closely monitor the progress of the situation and will randomly sample in seawater and fish products for research. Willing to actively promote the agency’s assessment and supervision of this in a fair, objective and scientific manner.
