According to a Spanish media report on April 8th local time, the General Directorate of Public Health of Madrid, the capital of Spain, detected a cluster infection of COVID-19 at the Royal Theatre in Madrid. Since March 15, 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been found.
Sources from the local health department said that the investigation related to cluster infection is still in progress, and the outbreak has been controlled. The average age of confirmed cases is 42.5 years.
They are all asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic infections, and no one needs hospitalization. The cluster infection occurred during the rehearsal of the opera Peter Grimes.
The confirmed cases mainly came from the choir and the cast. The opera is scheduled for the first performance on April 19 local time.
