The municipal government of Balanquia, the capital of Colombia’s Atlantic Province, confirmed on the 13th that Colombian Defense Minister Trusillo received hospitalization and observation in a hospital in the city of Barranquia on the 13th after being diagnosed with COVID-19 the night before.
According to people familiar with the matter, the hospitalization was due to careful consideration, and Trusillo’s condition was not serious enough to require intensive care.
Trusillo, 69, announced on the evening of the 12th through his personal social media account that he had contracted COVID-19 and would continue to work remotely in good health.
Previously, several people, including the Vice President, First Lady and Foreign Minister of Colombia, have reported positive results for COVID-19.
