China Deputy Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu talked with Ma Li, U.S. President’s Special Envoy for Iran, on the Iranian nuclear issue.

February 22, 2021, Vice Foreign Minister Ma Zhaoxu talked with Ma Li, the special envoy of the United States president for Iran, by telephone.

The two sides exchanged in-depth views on the Iranian nuclear issue. Ma Zhaoxu expounded China’s position and concerns on issues related to the Iranian nuclear issue.

Both sides expressed their commitment to a political solution to the Iranian nuclear issue and were willing to strengthen dialogue with relevant parties to jointly promote the early return of the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue.

The two sides agreed to maintain communication and coordination in this regard.
