January 25th local time, the BBC reported that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said that the government would notify schools and parents of students when schools in England can reopen according to the progress of epidemic prevention and control.
On the morning of the same day, members of the British Parliament called on the government to set a “timetable” for the reopening of schools to address concerns about student education from all walks of life.
Johnson noted that he understands why people need a timetable for schools to reopen, but he doesn’t want to lift lockdown restrictions at a critical time when infection rates remain high.
At present, the government said that schools in England cannot reopen before the half-term holiday in February.
