February 4th – Reuters and Sky News Network reported on the 4th that the United Kingdom announced the launch of a coronavirus vaccine trial, in which Pfizer vaccine and AstraZeneca vaccine are mixed during the process of coronavirus vaccination.
British Vaccine Secretary Nazim Zahavi said on the same day that this was an important trial.
British researchers said that participants in the vaccine test were either given the first dose of Pfizer vaccine, the second dose of AstraZeneca, the first dose of AstraZeneca vaccine, and the second dose of Pfizer vaccine.
The interval between vaccinations is 4 weeks and 12 weeks.
It is reported that the recruitment of volunteers was launched on the 4th, and it is expected that more than 800 people, who are over 50 years old, will participate.
Researchers said that data on the combination of these two different types of coronavirus vaccines can help to understand whether the vaccine can be more flexible around the world, and preliminary data on the immune response is expected to be available around early June.
“This is a very important trial that will provide us with more important evidence of whether these vaccines are safe in different ways of use,” said the UK Vaccine Secretary Nazahave on the 4th.
