According to Bulgarian media reports on January 10th local time, three areas in northwest Bulgaria, Vidin, Vratsa and Montana, have snowed up to 30 to 40 centimeters in the past 24 hours.

Although the highway management agency dispatched more than 200 special vehicles to clean up the snow, some sections of the road had to be temporarily closed because tall trees fell overwhelmed.

The previous day, in addition to issuing an orange warning for the above three areas, the Bulgarian meteorological department issued a yellow warning to 24 other areas.

On January 10, there was a heavy snow or blizzard in western Bulgaria, heavy rain or heavy rain in the eastern region, and some areas in the central region were in a state of rain and snow.

In response to this round of extreme weather, the Bulgarian Meteorological Department has issued early warnings to 27 of the 28 regions of the country.
