January 22nd local time, the Bangladesh Bureau of Secondary and Higher Education instructed all educational institutions in the country to create a healthy and safe teaching environment and prepare for the start of school by February 4 on the premise of ensuring the health and safety of all students, teachers and staff.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, parents of Bangladeshi students have put pressure on schools to suspend classes to protect the health of students.

On March 17 last year, all educational institutions in Bangladesh began to close, and it has been more than 10 months.

Bangladesh’s Ministry of Education has previously announced that the school closure date has been extended to January 30 this year.

According to a survey by a civil society organization in Bangladesh, 75% of primary and secondary school students and 76% of parents in Bangladesh are in favor of reopening schools.

In this context, the Ministry of Education of Bangladesh has decided that all schools in the country should be ready to open in February.

The Ministry of Education will decide the date of school opening based on the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic, the instructions of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the opinions of the Technical Advisory Committee on Response to the COVID-19 Epidemic.

Bangladesh’s Ministry of Education considers that students who take the middle school entrance examination and the college entrance examination will be arranged to return to the classroom first, and then let students from other grades return to school.
