Shops, hairdressers, museums and zoos in the capital Vienna will reopen from May 3rd, while cultural institutions such as theatres will remain closed, Austrian state broadcaster NIK reported on April 27. Vienna Mayor Ludwig announced the same day, but he warned that the situation is still serious, if the number of infections rise again, new restrictions may be adopted.
Vienna’s deputy mayor, Videkell, also said the opening steps must be sustainable, according to the report. He therefore called for the gradual implementation of the open-door steps to avoid another “ban” in June or July. Vidkell also pointed out that the detection of new coronavirus in schools is an important part of the fight against the outbreak of new coronavirus pneumonia, should be further expanded.
The report also pointed out that the same eastern Austrian state of Lower Austria will end the “ban” on May 3, Burgundy has been unsealed on April 19.
