Austria’s National Radio and Television reported on November 30 that Austria will deploy troops to participate in the large-scale coronavirus testing that will begin this week.
The Austrian military said that thousands of soldiers have been deployed, 2,000 are needed in the capital Vienna alone, and the military commands of the states are operating at full speed and will provide logistical support and large-scale testing.
It is reported that the first batch of testing will be carried out on December 5th to 6th for about 200,000 educators; from December 7th to 8th, about 40,000 policemen in Austria will be tested; and communities with high incidence of COVID-19 will also be tested in the first week of December.
At 14:00 on the same day, according to the data of the Austrian Ministry of Health, in the past 24 hours, there have been 2,748 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country, with a total of 280,530 confirmed cases, 2,983 deaths and 164,514 cured.
So far, a total of 4,251 patients with COVID-19 have been treated in hospitals, of which 691 patients have been treated in intensive care units.
