Kevin Rudd was Prime Minister of Australia from December 2007 to June 2010 and again from June 2013 to September 2013. He has just released the first of a two-volume autobiography: ‘Not for the Faint-Hearted: A Personal Reflection on Life, Politics and Purpose 1957-2007’. (Photo by Michael Masters/Getty Images)

Morrison was reportedly questioned by Labour MPs in Parliament on the 7th: Why can former Prime Minister Abbott and former Foreign Minister Alexander Downer have been granted immigration exemptions many times this year, while thousands of Australians stranded abroad cannot go home? Morrison replied that he did not understand why the Labor Party mentioned this. After all, Kevin Rudd did the same thing.

Morrison’s remarks immediately caused controversy. Rudd said on social media later that day Morrison’s words were a complete lie. I have not left Queensland since March. Morrison misled the parliament and should apologize.

After being hit in the face by the person concerned, Morrison wrote to Parliament on the evening of the 7th to request that the minutes of the meeting be corrected and apologized to Kevin Rudd for his wrong statement.
