The UN refugee agency announced on the 12th that a shipwreck on the coast of Libya that day killed at least 74 illegal immigrants.
According to reports, more than 120 people, including women and children, were on board the sunken ship.
47 survivors were taken to shore by the Coast Guard and fishermen, and 31 bodies were salvaged.
The search is still continuing.
According to statistics from the International Organization for Migration, this year
at least 900 people have been killed while trying to cross the Mediterranean Sea
and another 11,000 people have been intercepted and returned to Libya.
