AstraZeneca vaccine will be the first authorized for emergency use in India.

According to a Reuters just now, three people familiar with the matter said that India’s drug regulator will approve the emergency use of the AstraZeneca-Oxford coronavirus vaccine on Friday.

The United Kingdom and Argentina have authorized the emergency use of AstraZeneca vaccine.

Experts from the Central Drug Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) in India may also approve applications for emergency use authorization (EUA) for the novel coronavirus vaccine developed by local company Bharat Biotechnology at today’s meeting, two anonymous sources said.
