AstraZeneca CEO Soliot said on Sunday that the coronavirus vaccine jointly developed by the company and Oxford University has been “successfully formulated” and is currently being evaluated by the independent drug regulator in the UK for severe and hospitalized coronary diseases.
Patients provide “100% protection”.
Soriot added that he believes that testing will prove that its vaccine has reached the same efficiency as the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine.” We think we’ve figured out the winning formula and how to get equal efficacy after vaccination.”
He said that the data will be released “at some point”.
The UK government announced on 23 December that AstraZeneca in Oxford has submitted its vaccine data to the
Drug and Health Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) and approval is expected to take place next Monday.
