April 24 At least eight people were killed when a glacier collapsed in the Niti Valley in the Chamoli region of North Akende, India, on Wednesday, local time, India Today reported.

Reported that the avalanche occurred, workers are working on the road construction.

Indian army forces have launched a rescue operation.

So far, eight bodies have been recovered from the avalanche site, and six others are in serious condition and are being treated at a military camp.
