April 9th A 66-year-old woman in Ohio lost her house due to foreclosure. A day after the house was sold, she turned to burn it down.
Janet Caplinger was foreclosed in December 2020, Fox News reported on the 9th. On January 8, 2021, she lit a fire in many places in the house. Property records show that the house was sold to a health care company the day before, and the house was listed for sale at the end of March for $24,900. The fire caused significant structural damage, and the house was eventually demolished.
On April 7, Janet was arrested on two counts of arson. The judge set her bail at $100,000 in cash. She will return to court for a hearing on April 12.
