Self-interest at the expense of others! Two women in Florida, USA, were caught by the police recently in order to give priority to vaccination against the novel coronavirus, pretending to be an elderly person. They have been blacklisted by the vaccination site.
The vaccination site of Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, welcomed two suspicious-looking vaccinators last week: they were 34 and 44 years old, trying to fool through poor makeup, but were exposed on the spot.
Because Florida gives priority to vaccination for the elderly aged 65 and above, the two speculators deliberately misrepresented their age information when submitting the application information, and have successfully obtained the first injection at other vaccination points through this method before.
The two were severely criticized by the police, and a police officer scolded: “You stole the vaccine that belongs to others – they need the vaccine more than you do. It’s not your turn to vaccinate this time. Wait well.”
It is understood that the Convention and Exhibition Center has applied to law enforcement agencies for an “intrusion warning” against the two, which is equivalent to pulling them into a “blacklist”.
In the future, for any reason, neither of them has the right to enter the center, otherwise they will be arrested.
The pandemic also exposed loopholes in local vaccination efforts, with health departments further investigating how the two successfully booked in the first round of injection, the Associated Press said.
