December 18th – A Kansas policeman deliberately drove over and injured an African-American man. This terrible picture was captured by CarLog.
According to the lawsuit filed by Lionel Womack of Kansas City on the 17th, Keowa County policeman Jeremy Rodriguez died on August 15. Yi drove him down, causing him to be seriously injured. The suit held that Rodriguez’s excessive use of force was “indifferent” to Womack’s civil rights.
Rodriguez’s patrol car ran over Womack after chasing him who was running, the lawsuit said, and then ran over his lower body. Womack rolled out of the truck’s tires, and his arms and legs were shaking violently. Womack said he was seriously injured in his back, pelvis and thighs, as well as his right knee, ankle and foot.
“He did not speed and when he was initially stopped, his driver’s license, insurance and registration were up to date,” Womack said in a statement. Womack said that when he saw three cars surrounding his car at the same time, he was scared and began to run away. After the car broke down, he began to run to the field. “It was a time of ‘fight or run away’. I want to live.”
According to the report, Womack was treated for his injuries and sentenced to prison in December for attempting to evade law enforcement officials through reckless driving and interference in law enforcement. Michael Kuckelman, the prosecutor of Kansas District Court, believes Rodriguez is subject to criminal charges.
“The video of CarLog is disturbing,” said Cookman. “A deputy sheriff drove a truck and ran over Mr. Womack, and you’re almost sick. Womack has nowhere to go. It was an open space. He was trapped, but the deputy ran over him in a truck.”
