November 22 – Russian satellite news agency reported on the 22nd that an American man with a suspicious whereabouts recently broke into a military base in Burkina Faso, a African country. Soldiers fired a warning gun and threw it away in an attempt to escape. He was shot and died in the hospital.
AFP quoted Burkina Faso’s security and diplomatic service as saying that on the 21st local time, Burkina Faso security forces opened fire on a U.S. citizen with suspicious whereabouts while he was walking outside a military camp in the capital Ouagadougou.
After the soldiers fired a warning gun, the man refused to obey and tried to escape. The soldier then opened fire, and the American man was shot several times and was taken to the hospital and died.
The U.S. Embassy in Burkina Faso confirmed that a U.S. citizen died in Ouagadougou. The incident occurred before the general election on November 22 in Burkina Faso.
