On November 16, local time, Kenya’s Minister of Education Magoha announced that all schools in Kenya will resume classes on January 4, 2021.
From January 4 to March 19, it will be the first to second grade of kindergarten (two-year preschool education in Kenya), the first to third grade, and the fifth to seventh grade
The third semester of the fourth and eighth grades of elementary school and the fourth grade of middle school will resume classes on the 12th.
From March 20, 2021, there will be a 7-week holiday during which the national primary and secondary school entrance examinations will be conducted.
The third semester of the 2020 school year will begin on May 10, 2021 and end on July 16.
The 2021 school year will begin on July 26.
Magoha said that the Kenyan government will make every effort to ensure the safe resumption of schools and called on the society to actively donate masks.
Since the reopening of graduating classes in Kenyan primary and secondary schools in mid-October this year, nearly 30 schools have reported cluster infections and hundreds of teachers and students have been diagnosed Coronavirus.
