April 10th – According to a Japanese media report on the 9th, the Japanese government has basically decided to discharge nuclear sewage from the Fukushima nuclear power plant into the sea, and will hold a meeting on April 13 local time to make a formal decision.

Japanese public opinion believes that this move will be opposed by all walks of life in Japan and the international community.

According to the report, the Japanese government said that the content of tritium, the radioactive material in the treated nuclear sewage, is only one-seventh of the World Health Organization drinking water standard.

At the same time, the Japanese government called on local governments and aquaculture operators to strengthen the monitoring of the concentration of radioactive substances in nuclear sewage at the time of discharge, promising to continue to vigorously assist in the revitalization of local fisheries and tourism, and pointed out that if the brand image of local products is damaged by nuclear sewage discharge, it will be borne by Tokyo Electric Power Company.
