Afghan government forces have killed 251 Taliban militants

May 19 2021 The Afghan Ministry of Defense said in a statement on the 19th that in the past 24 hours, Afghan government forces in several provinces launched operations, killing a total of 251 Taliban militants.

The statement said government forces in Ghazni Province, Kandahar Province and Baghlan Province and other places to carry out operations against Taliban militants. In addition to killing 251 Taliban militants, government forces wounded 193 Taliban militants. In addition, government forces found and dismantled 67 improvised explosive devices planted by Taliban militants on roadsides.

At present, the Taliban have not responded to the Afghan Defense Ministry’s statement.

U.S. and NATO troops began their formal withdrawal from Afghanistan on May 1st and plan to withdraw all of them by September 11th. Recently, the security situation has deteriorated as attacks continue in Afghanistan.
