Abdullah Abdullah, chairman of the Afghan High Council for National Reconciliation, and Hamid Karzai, former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, met with Abdul Rahman Mansour, acting governor of Kabul province appointed by the Taliban, Afghan Dawn TV reported Tuesday.
During the meeting, the two sides focused on how to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the people of Kabul. Abdullah said that in order for the capital Kabul to return to normal life as soon as possible, the people must feel safe and secure. Mansour said he would do everything possible to ensure the safety of the people of Kabul.
Earlier, a senior Taliban member said that if any Taliban members of the civilian population any harm, the Taliban will investigate.
