A U.S. court will issue a judgment on June 16 against the police officer who killed Floyd on his knees

April 23, local time, a Minnesota court said it would issue a judgment at 13:30 on June 16 against Derek Chauvin, a former Minneapolis police officer who knelt down to kill an African-American man.

Shawan, who knelt down to kill Floyd, an African-American man, in May 2020, was found guilty by a jury of three counts of murdering Freud on May 20.

The Minnesota court said Hennepin County Judge Peter Cahill, who is in charge of the case, will issue a formal judgment at 13:30 on June 16 announcing the verdict, which is expected to carry a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
