A third mutant COVID-19 infection in the United States has been found in Florida.

Florida reported the first mutant COVID-19 infection in the state on the evening of December 31 local time, and the third case of mutant COVID-19 infection found in the United States after Colorado and California.

The case, which occurred in Martin County, the state, was a man in his 20s who recently contracted the first variant coronavirus found in the UK without traveling, according to the Florida Department of Health. Currently, the Florida Department of Health is working with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to conduct an in-depth investigation.
