January 23rd – On Friday (22nd local time), a tour bus to the Grand Canyon capsized in northwest Arizona, killing one person and seriously injuring two people.
Anita Mortensen, spokesman for the Mohaf County Sheriff’s Office, said that the cause of the accident around noon on Friday was unclear. A
photo provided by the police shows that the bus rolled over on a curved road, and there was no rainy and snowy weather in the area that day.
It is reported that a total of 48 people were on board, including the driver.
Local police spokesman Teri Williams said that 44 people were taken to Kingman Regional Medical Center after the accident, two of whom were taken to the medical center by medical helicopter.
All but two seriously injured and one tragic death were treated for minor injuries.
