A family of three was killed in an avalanche at a Russian ski resort.

An avalanche occurred in the early morning of the 9th at a mountain ski resort in Siberia, Russia, killing a family of three.

The Russian Federal Investigation Commission sent personnel to the scene to investigate the safety of the house in the ski resort, and a criminal case has been filed.

The avalanche occurred at about 7:30 local time, burying four houses in the ski resort. The ski resort is located in Krasnoyarsk Krai, about 300 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle. 

The person in charge of the ski resort said that the avalanche impact ranged from 500 to 600 square meters, and the snow was as thick as 3 meters.

At present, the search and rescue have been completed.

A 14-year-old boy with severe frostbite was rescued and sent to the hospital under the snow. The remains of three victims were found, including a child.

At-site search and rescue personnel said that only one house was occupied at the time of the avalanche, namely, the ski resort cable car manager, his wife and two children.

According to Russian media reports, the local emergency department has blocked the avalanche area.

The Russian Federal Investigation Commission said that a criminal case had been filed for the safety of ski resort housing.
