January 23rd local time, a large 339-ton fishing boat of South Korea sank in the southern waters of Juji City, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
There were nine Korean crew members and one Indonesian crew member on board.
After the accident, the South Korean coast guard quickly dispatched 11 rescue boats and 2 rescue planes to the scene.
So far, seven crew members have been rescued, three others have disappeared, and the coast guard continues to search and rescue.
South Korean coast guard said that at the time of the accident, the waves in the sea area where the accident occurred were 2 meters to 3.5 meters high and the wind speed reached 14 to 16 meters per second, which was very difficult to search and rescue.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
