April 20 2021, a 15-year-old girl named Makiah Bryant was shot and killed by police in Columbus, Ohio, her family confirmed to local media.
According to reports, the local police received the dispute trouble alarm phone, at around 4:30 pm local time arrived at the scene of the incident. The victim’s family revealed that it was Bryant who called the police for help after a group of girls fought outside their home. Bryant was shot by police and taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther issued a statement that night confirming the death of “a young woman.” According to local media reports, the families of the deceased and other people have gathered at the site of the protest. Mr Kinser said police had body camera footage of the incident and urged people to “stay calm” and let investigators gather evidence.
