Bloomberg quoted NBC on November 24 that Biden intends to appoint former Deputy Secretary of Defense Michelle Flournoy as Secretary of Defense.
According to the U.S. political news website Politico, during the Obama administration as the Undersecretary for Policy of the Department of Defense, Flunoir was the “No. 3” of the Pentagon and played an important role in formulating the strategy for Afghanistan and Iraq.
