On October 24, according to TASS news agency, a Russian oil tanker exploded in the Sea of Azov.
According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Krasnodar Region, it was initially determined that no cargo was carried on the tanker. There are 13 crew members on board, 6 people have been rescued so far, 3 people fell into the water, and 4 people on board.
The Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations has sent three rescue boats to the scene, and a passing ship “Bratsk” is also on the scene. A total of 102 people and 14 pieces of equipment have been put into rescue operations. However, the local weather was already dark, which brought difficulties to rescue operations.
The Russian Federal Transport Supervision Agency stated that the tanker may sink due to the explosion.
