Egyptian media reported on the 21st local time that the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population decided that the Ministry of Health and all hospitals and their affiliates would stop “non-essential” leave, saying that the move was part of the Ministry’s plan to deal with the second wave of COVID-19.
In June this year, the Ministry of Health decided to suspend all forms of leave for its institutions for three months as a response to the coronavirus pandemic.
Recently, the number of daily coronavirus infections in Egypt has continued to rise slightly. The Ministry of Health stipulates that non-essential holidays include traveling abroad, caring for families or accompanying them.
On the 20th, 363 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 13 new deaths were reported in Egypt. So far, Egypt has accumulated 112,318 confirmed cases of COVID-19, 6,521 deaths and 101,685 cured.
