According to Philippines media, at about 8:50 a.m. November 21, an accident occurred in a viaduct under expansion in Montinlupa, the metro Manila region of the Philippines.
A section of the steel beam of the expansion fell during installation, hitting passing vehicles, killing at least one person and injuring three others. .
After the accident, the engineering contractor EEI Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd. (EEI Corporation) announced that the injured had been sent to a nearby hospital for treatment, and the company was contacting the deceased and the relatives of the injured to help them.
In addition, the contractor undertakes to immediately review the safety and operating procedures of the project.
Local police said that at least five motor vehicles were damaged in the accident, including one taxi, one van, one SUV and two motorcycles.
Police and contractors are currently working to clean up and remove fallen steel beams and damaged vehicles to restore traffic as soon as possible.
