South Africa will comprehensively upgrade its citizenship system to help the police control the crime rate.
On the 19th local time, South African President Ramaphosa signed the new policy of “South African Identity Management System” and solicited opinions from now on.
According to local media reports, the relevant policy contains some column changes in the South African citizenship system.
Records such as marriage, death, residence in South Africa, fingerprints and crime will be included in the identification system.
In addition, foreigners going to South Africa will also be required to receive biometric information collection at the time of visa processing and entry.
The new policy also includes the integration of the country’s population registration system and the interface of personal information with the identity management system of government departments.
Relevant experts pointed out that this upgrade of the identity system will help improve the efficiency of the government and help the police control the crime rate.
