It is understood that this agreement states that before December 31, 2021, Denmark will temporarily ban the farming of mink, and all farmed mink must be killed. In addition, for each mink killed before November 19, the breeder will receive a compensation of $5, but the specific compensation agreement has not yet been reached.
On November 4, the Danish government announced that all about 17 million minks across the country would be hunted and killed to control the spread of the Coronavirus.
However, the plan was suspended after being criticized by the opposition. The Danish Prime Minister also apologized for this, acknowledging that the move had no legal basis.
