27.85 carats! Swiss purple-pink diamond “Rose Spirit” sold for 21 million Swiss francs
On the evening of November 11, local time, at the Sotheby’s online auction in Geneva, Switzerland, a purple pink diamond named “The Soul of Rose” was sold for 21 million Swiss francs about 23.5 Million USD. The diamond weighs 14.83 carats and is named after the classic repertoire of the Russian Ballet “The Soul of Rose”.
Sotheby’s website shows that the diamond was estimated at between 21 million Swiss francs and 35 million Swiss francs before the auction. The rough diamond is about 27.85 carats. It was mined in a mine in the Sakha Republic in the Russian Far East in 2017.
It was cut and polished for about a year. According to media reports, Geneva Sotheby’s auctioneer Repellin said that the diamond is a natural miracle and is the largest of its kind in purple-pink diamonds auctioned.
