At present, he has been transferred to the isolation facility of the Capital General Hospital of Vanuatu.
The health department is tracking people who have been in contact with confirmed cases.
The Vanuatu government has announced the closure of the island of Efate, where the capital is located, and the suspension of travel between the islands and Efate.
The government has also extended the quarantine period for returnees to Vanuatu from 14 days to 28 days.
